Rose Flower Biography

I am a beautiful red rose in a garden where there are only roses. Aha! I feel so happy when I see the immaculate beauty that I am and my friends are. Just when I see the beauty of my friends around me, I can well imagine how beautiful I also must be, for, after all, we are all alike.
People coming to this garden, appreciate each and every one of us and we feel as happy as punch. I feel the happiest as, I am the largest rose of a bright red colour and all visitors point out to me, then I feel as though I am on top of the world.
When I hear the conversations of the visitors, the thrill that follows is beyond your comprehension. I have to agree that I am very beautiful and my entire species is a beauty to reckon with. You know when people describe me as a combination of elegance, beauty and boldness all wrapped in one, I feel as though I am in the seventh heaven.
All around me there are roses of different colours, there are red roses that is of my colour, there are pink ones, light pink and dark pink ones, light lemon colour ones, a very light mauve species and can you imagine, there are also some black ones. What a variety of colours we present and I often imagine the colours of the painting box of God. He must be having a huge variety of colours.
The garden, in which we stand, is a public garden. I believe the garden belongs to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi or, it is responsible to look after us. Daily a few gardeners come to see what all we require and they report to their seniors. The gardener's water all of us daily prune us to make us look neat and tidy.
At times, the gardeners take our cuttings to plant elsewhere. When they use the scissors on us it pains us and as far as I am concerned, I being rather big, feel for the Youngers when the gardeners' scissors play on their bodies, I feel pained for them. It is real fun and a pleasure to realise that, I belong to a species of flowers that are known for their beauty, fragrance and colour, and are also looked after with great care and love.
Day after day we all and I too keep watching people coming in and going out of this garden. At times, I hear some visitors even asking a gardener to give them a few of us. I have seen with my own eyes, several of my little brothers being plucked and even stolen. What I hear is that, selling any of us is allowed but of course stealing is never allowed anywhere.
I often wondered why people buy us, till one day I heard a customer telling the gardener that he required some of us for his sister's marriage. Then I came to know that we are used by man for many purposes.
Some of us are offered to God in worship houses, other lucky ones are got tied up neatly into bouquets to be presented to brides and bridegrooms, or on birthdays. However, some of us who are in bad luck, born under bad stars serve as wreaths for the dead.
This thought and knowledge of our different uses makes my heart burn with fear and I start wondering what fate God has allotted to me. My prayer to God starts as soon as I see my brethren being sold and if at all I am to be sold, my first choice would be that, I be used as an offering to God, my creator at any place of worship. It is only the lucky ones who have such a fate, that I realise, and I can only hope that luck favours me.
These days it is the winter season and we are all enjoying the beauty of the weather and also enjoying good health and fun of blooming to our heart's content. Soon summer will set in and most of us will wither away in that scorching heat.
For the present all is fine let us wait and watch what fate has in store for us. Ah! Yes I forget to tell you something very important, and that is my grandparents and their generation of roses was the favourites of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He used to call for one of them daily to be stuck to his jacket buttonhole.
Though life in his buttonhole must be suffocating for that old generation but, I feel at least that generation got the honour of being so close to the heart of so great man. The entire generation got the honour because he used to call for a new rose daily and that was real great respect my grandparents got.
Now, all that I can do is to see what fate awaits me; all will be well if the end will be well, for people say that, "all is well that ends well". The end has to come but, where and how will be of great importance to the individual whether it is me.

Wasim Akram Biography

Wasim Akram born in Lahore, Punjab is a former Pakistani cricketer. He was a left-arm fast bowler and left-handed batsman, who represented the Pakistani cricket team in Tests and One Day Internationals. Widely regarded as one of the finest fast bowlers ever, Akram holds world records for the most wickets taken in both ODIs (502) and List A cricket (881), and was one of the pioneers of reverse swing bowling. The revolutionary nature of reverse swing initially resulted in accusations of ball tampering, although reverse swing has now been accepted as a legitimate feature of the game. Akram's later career was also tarnished with accusations of match fixing, although these remain unproven.
Wasim retired in 2003, after a brief spell with Hampshire in England. Since then, Wasim has taken up commentary and can currently be seen as a sportscaster for the ESPN Star network, and is also running shows on ARY Digital. He is married to Huma Mufti, daughter of Mr. Humayaun Mufti. Wasim and Huma have two sons from their marriage of fourteen years. Wasim has also appeared in Fuzon video as a model.

Mohammad Hafiz Biography

An opening batsman and a handy offspin bowler, Hafeez was one of the young players that the Pakistan selectors turned to after the team's abysmal display in the 2003 World Cup. His performances in Sharjah and in the NatWest Challenge in England indicated that Hafeez could well be a long-term prospect - he showed good technique and temperament at the top of the order and bowled his offspinners tidily, but most impressive was his performance in the field. Patrolling the point and covers region with feverish alertness, he saved plenty of runs and pulled off an amazing catch. His organised approach towards batting ensured that he got an opportunity in the Test team in the three-Test series against Bangladesh. He didn't do badly either, scoring a half-century on debut, and then stroking his first hundred in his second Test. However, his form then dipped alarmingly in the ODIs against South Africa, leading to his exclusion from the Test squad. Soon after he was dropped from the ODI squad as well. He has remained on the fringes of the national squad however with a string of impressive domestic performances, coupled with useful hands for the Pakistan A squad. He was called back to the ODI side in 2005 but failed to achieve any significant results. A spanking century for Pakistan A against Australia A in the Top End Series in Australia during the summer of 2006, allied with the exacerbtion of Pakistan's opening problems on the tour to England, meant that Hafeez returned for the Oval Test annd amidst all debris, his calm and signficant 95 was all but forgotten. He has been adequate rather than spectacular though given the problems Pakistan have with openers, Hafeez is likely to remain involved for some time even with an ordinary average.

Shoaib Akhtar Biography

Shoaib Akhtar

is a former professional cricketer who played testes and One Day International matches for the Pakistan national team in ICC organized events. He has been dubbed as The Rawalpindi Express after the place where he was born and he is arguably the fastest bowler the world of cricket has ever seen, easily clocking 150 km/hour on many occasions. He became the first man to bowl a delivery over 100 miles/hour or 161.3 km/hour, which is the fastest delivery ever bowled in the history of cricket against England. Moreover, not only did he achieve a speed of 100 miles/hour on his delivery, he achieved it twice during one single match and that is something that makes him very unique in the world of fast bowlers. His prowess lay in being able to bowl fast and precise Yorkers as well as quick bouncers and these abilities made him one of the greatest as well as most feared bowlers of all time, the likes of which had not been seen in international cricket since the times of Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Jeff Thompson, Dennis Lillie, Malcolm Marshall and the likes – players who depended on raw pace to pick up wickets.
However,

was also a very controversial figure and it followed him wherever he went. It has been said that he was very selfish and not a team man. The Pakistan team management once sent him home from Australia in the middle of a series because of an alleged poor behavior on his part. In 2006, he was perhaps involved in the biggest controversy when WADA found

guilty of taking performance enhancing drugs and the ICC banned him from playing cricket. This ban was however lifted and he returned to the Pakistan national side the following year and almost immediately, got himself banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board or the PCB for fighting with team mate and fellow opening bowler Mohammad Asif during a training session.
He was selected to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders for the inaugural IPL but injuries blighted his season and he played only a handful of matches. Akhtar was so injury prone that he only managed to play a total of 46 tests and 163 One Day Internationals in his 12 year international career, taking a total of 425 wickets in all.

Shoaib Akhtar, in spite of all his short comings, is truly a legend of the game and no matter what happens, cricket will always remember this flamboyant star.
